What is UIL Academics?
The University Interscholastic League is the state governing body for competitive activities of all types in middle and high school. Many people know it as the organizing body for athletics like football, basketball, or softball, but it also covers fine arts (with competitions in theatre, band, orchestra, choir, etc.) as well as academic contests. Working individually as well as a part of a team, students have the opportunity to earn recognition, the right to compete for a state championship, and even scholarships in events ranging from accounting to spelling and so much more. More information can be found at the UIL Academics web page or by contacting the Clear Lake UIL Academic Coaches listed below.
